LoB Catan Competition 2020 Gold: Dan Hope Silver: Alan Thomas Bronze: Lilyan Tannous (photo at the bottom of this article) A field of 31 players contested the 2020 London on Board Catan Competion over two days. Day One produced an early leader in Alan Thomas, unbeaten in all three games. There were a few players hovering behind him on two wins, though. Sadly both our 4th and 5th place players after Day One - Martin and John - couldn't join us for Day Two, due to travel difficulties caused by Storm Ciara. We went ahead with the 14 who were there. Alan got a fourth win in his Quarter Final and was starting to look unbeatable. However he finished last in his Semi Final, opening up a chance of taking the tournament for some of the other players. Remarkably, Andy chose to leave the competition after the Semi Finals, despite having got a place in the Final! That opened up a spot for Lilyan, and by coming second in the Final she secured third place over Ash. Alan's bad spell continued, last again in the Final, but his results from earlier in the competition were enough to keep him in second place overall. Dan won the Final, and by doing so also won the competition outright.
